My Niche Found Me
How cool is that? I began my Virtual Assistant career with a very small task for Ros Null, The Edge Virtual Assistance. Soon after that she needed another little task completed which I was very happy to do for her. Then as her business began to grow she called and asked if I would be interested in doing some regular sub-contract work with her. Of course I said “Yes!” Several months later Kylie Short, Tilda Virtual Services contacted me to ask if I would like to do some subcontract work for her. I said “YES!”
During this time I realized how much I enjoyed working with Virtual Assistants. I treat my Virtual Assistant clients with the same respect that I treat a regular client but even that doesn’t sound quite right. The Virtual Assistant IS my client. And in fact I feel that I must work harder for the VA because I have the responsibility of not not only representing my company but also the company of the VA.
Sure, I’m not making the amount of money that the VA is making, but I also don’t have the added expense of marketing and finding the clients.
More next time on the actual services I provide to my Virtual Assistant clients and the fabulous VAs that I work with.
Endings and Beginnings
Last Sunday, June 1, was our last Sunday with our beloved small church, Saloma Baptist Church. We have developed lifelong friendships with the wonderful people there.
June 15th we will begin a new journey in our church ministry at Cecilia Baptist Church, which is a slightly larger church in membership and much larger in size. We look forward to the ministry opportunities that await us there. My husband will be the Music Minister.
So, what I’m asking from you is that you will lift us up in prayer as we transition from one church to another.

The Small Church Challenge
According to several articles reporting on the recent Small Church Conference, IMPACT 2008, held in North Carolina, small churches face a number of struggles unique to the small church. A LifeWay research study revealed that the number one challenge that a bivocational pastor faces is time or the lack thereof. They say there are just not enough hours in the day to do what they are called to do.
Several months ago I wrote a blog article speaking to that topic. Are you doing what you were called to do? Or are you spending time doing some things that an administrative assistant could be doing?
Here is where I step in and ask the minister. . . Will you do your family and your church family a favor and send me an Email.
I can help give you back your calling.
Kind Regards,
Deirdre

Thank you Ministers for. . .
Thank you ministers for . . . bringing to us the message of hope that was given over the whole world on Saturday and Sunday. Thank you for the enumerable hours of study, to make sure that your message was sound and solid.
Thank you for preparing a sermon to glorify our Creator, edify the believer, and create a hunger in the unsaved to have a relationship with Christ.
OIVAC Great VA GiveAway You can Help!
I’ve volunteered to help with the OIVAC this year and we need donations!!! Please dig deep and see if there is anything that you’d like to give away. This can be a one time donation or be a part of the Great VA GiveAway. You’ll find more information on my site in the little green box and on the OIVAC website.
If any of you participated in the Ezine Queen’s teleseminar this week you know the value of driving people to your website and collecting contacts. So take a few minutes and write that article you’ve been putting off or that Top Ten List. Maybe you can give away 1 hour of service when someone purchases a block of time. This is a win win situation!
I’ve made it easy for you to donate. Just fill out the form on my site and I’ll call you or email you to get the rest of the details.
John Piper . . . Guarding your time
John Piper speaks about how pastors can guard their time here.
He has some very good ideas about protecting families and nurturing wives.
Enjoy! Be sure to take carve out some time for your family this week.
